Jun 06, 2015 · Nothing wrong with bolt on hooks. You still should weld on some type of support plate in the hook area. A lot of folks mount the hooks in line with the FEL arms, and not way out at the end of the bucket. Buckets are fairly strong for what they are made for, but you can bend them up yanking on them with a poorly mounted hook.

I could then use those hooks to keep a debris fork chained tight, rather than running a chain all the way around the bucket, or up to a hook on top. Mar 15, 2013 · Nice job on the fab work, looks real nice. I have a 99 L3010 and i use it a lot for lifting logs with a 5/16" chain. Some of the logs way around 1300lbs. I just bolted 3/8" chain hooks to the top of the bucket where the horizontal supports for the loader arms are (already a hole on each side of the bucket).

Oct 21, 2020 · Weld a bead on one plate, go to a different plate and weld a bead and so forth. This will allow the metal to cool and minimize any warping of your bucket. That's right warping. Apr 05, 2016 · The old loader has a grab hook welded on each corner of the bucket, was that way when I got it. My son says we need to weld hooks on my brand new loader. I never used them because if I need to lift something I change to the pallet forks but he seems to use them often. I just hate the thought of welding on a new bucket.

Feb 19, 2021 · I think I'm deciding to go weld on. I really wanted to like the bolt on, but after taking a look at the bucket again tonight after my Amazon bolt ons showed up, I think the backing plate will be in the way of the quick attach connector if I put them inline with the loader cylinders.

Was going to weld support plates on each side and attach chain hooks but found 1/2" holes in support gussets spaced correctly. I believe I could put a small clevis in each hole on each side and attach a chain hook.
